Returns & Refunds Policy

1. We’ve Got You Covered

When you buy from the Salford RLFC official store, you’re buying with confidence. We stand behind every item we sell – and if something isn’t right, we’ll sort it. No runaround, no nonsense. Just tell us what’s happened and we’ll get it fixed.

This policy covers all purchases made through www.salfordrlfc.co.uk. It sits alongside your legal rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 – it doesn’t replace them or take anything away from you.

2. Changed Your Mind? No Problem.

Bought online and had second thoughts? That’s fine. UK law gives you 14 days from the day your order arrives to cancel – no questions asked. That’s your statutory cooling-off period and it’s yours as of right.

Just drop us an email at shop@salfordrlfc.co.uk within those 14 days, giving us your name, order number and letting us know you want to cancel. Once you’ve done that, you have a further 14 days to send the item back to us. We’ll process your refund within 14 days of getting the goods back (or proof of postage – whichever comes first).

One thing to note: this cooling-off right doesn’t apply to personalised items such as printed shirts. See Section 7 for the full detail on that.

3. Our Returns Window

Your legal cooling-off period gives you 14 days from delivery to change your mind. On top of that, we give you an extra 14 days – meaning you have 28 days from delivery in total to return any standard item, whether it’s the wrong size, not quite what you expected, or you just changed your mind. We’re a fan-first club and we want you to shop with confidence.

Buying Christmas gifts? Anything purchased between 1 November and 24 December can be returned up to 31 January the following year. Plenty of time to get it sorted.

4. What We Need From You

To keep things fair for everyone, returned items need to meet the following:

  • Returned within 28 days of delivery in total (14 days statutory + 14 days goodwill extension, or within the Christmas extended window above)
  • Unworn, unused and in the same condition as when it left us
  • Original packaging intact, with all swing tags and labels still attached
  • Proof of purchase included – your order confirmation email or order number will do

If an item comes back showing signs of wear, washing or damage, or with labels removed, we reserve the right to refuse the return or reduce the refund. If it’s not in a resaleable condition, we’ll send it back to you.

5. How to Return – Three Simple Steps

Step 1 – Get in touch first

Before you send anything back, drop us an email at shop@salfordrlfc.co.uk. Tell us:

  • Your full name and order number
  • Which item(s) you’re returning
  • Why you’re returning it (wrong size, unwanted gift, faulty – whatever it is, just be straight with us)
  • Whether you want a refund or an exchange

We’ll come back to you within 2 working days with a Return Authorisation (RA) number and clear instructions. Don’t send anything back without that number – it just slows things down for everyone.

Step 2 – Pack it up

Wrap the item securely and pop a note inside with your order number, shipping number, and RA number. That’s all we need to turn it around quickly for you.

Use a tracked, signed-for service and hold on to your proof of postage. We can’t take responsibility for items lost on their way back to us – and without proof of postage, we’re unable to treat it as returned. It’s a small step that protects you.

6. Who Pays Postage?

  • If you’ve changed your mind or no longer want the item. You pay.
  • If we sent you the wrong item. We’ll sort the return postage and make it right with a replacement or full refund, including your original delivery cost. We pay.
  • If the item arrived faulty or damaged. Just contact us before sending anything back (see Section 10). We pay.

When we’re covering return postage, we’ll email you a pre-paid Royal Mail label. Simple.

7. Items We Can’t Accept Back

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive faulty, damaged or not as described:

  • Personalised or custom-printed items – for example, shirts printed with a name and/or squad number
  • Items that have been worn, washed or had their tags removed
  • Items returned outside our returns window
  • Items not in their original condition or packaging
  • Pierced jewellery and other sealed hygiene products once opened

On personalised items: once a shirt has been printed, we can’t accept responsibility if a player leaves the club, changes squad number, or the badge or kit design is updated. That’s the nature of a living, breathing club. Refunds on personalised items are only available if the item arrives faulty, damaged or materially different from what you ordered.

8. Getting Your Money Back

Once we’ve received and checked your return, we’ll email you to confirm. If everything’s in order, your refund goes back to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the goods.

If you cancel within the 14-day legal cooling-off period, we’ll also refund the standard delivery charge you paid when you ordered. We don’t refund premium or express delivery upgrades unless the whole order was faulty or sent in error.

Allow up to 5 additional working days for the refund to show in your account – that’s your bank or payment provider’s processing time, not ours.

9. Exchanges

Need a different size or colour? No problem – we’ll swap it where stock allows. The same conditions apply as for returns (see Section 4).

Follow the returns process in Section 5 and tell us exactly what you need. We’ll confirm availability once your item is back with us. If we can’t do the swap, we’ll refund you in full instead.

We cover the cost of sending your exchange back out to you within the UK. For international orders, additional delivery costs may apply.

10. Something Arrived Wrong or Damaged?

If your order turns up faulty, damaged or just plain wrong – let us know straight away. Email shop@salfordrlfc.co.uk within 30 days of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • A description of what’s wrong
  • Clear photos of the item and, where relevant, the packaging

We’ll get it sorted as fast as we can – replacement or full refund, including return postage. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain fully in place.
