Owain Abel has signed a new one-year contract extension with the club.
How excited are you to sign on for another year?
“I’m absolutely over the moon to be staying at the club. The lads have played a massive part in that. We’ve got a great group of lads here at Salford, and playing in front of these fans every week really is an honour.”
What made staying at Salford the right decision for you?
“After being out for two years, I think that first game was just about building my confidence and getting back into it. It was a stepping stone for me, and I was able to build on my performances from there.”
What have you enjoyed most about your time here at Salford?
“The thing I’ve enjoyed the most is playing in front of the fans. I missed the last couple of games through a little injury, so I was up in the stands watching with them. I think I’ve turned into a bit of a Salford fan myself now! They’re absolutely crazy, but I love it.”
What are the aims for next season for yourself personally and also collectively with the team?
“My main aim is to stay fit and perform well throughout the year, hopefully building on the performances I put in towards the back end of last year. As a team, I genuinely believe we can push the bigger sides close and, hopefully, come away with the wins we deserve.”
