Salford RLFC are delighted to announce the new signing of Marc Sneyd from Warrington Wolves.
The 35-year-old has signed a two-year contract, that will see him stay at the club until 2029.
Sneyd returns to Salford having two prior stints with the club in 2010 and 2022.
The signing was announced to supporters at the CorpAcq Stadium on Sunday, ahead of Salford’s Championship fixture against London Broncos, where Sneyd was introduced to the crowd following the announcement of his return.
Sneyd is a product of Salford’s academy, making his first-team debut for the club in 2010. He left for Hull FC in 2014, returned to Salford in 2022, and joined Warrington in March 2025 as the previous entity’s financial position deteriorated ahead of its liquidation later that year.
His return has been driven by the club’s board as part of its long-term plans for the 2027 season. Securing one of the game’s most accomplished half-backs from Super League reflects the board’s determination to strengthen the squad as the club enters its next phase.
Despite interest from both Super League and Championship clubs, Sneyd chose to return to Salford, a decision the club believes reflects the clear direction, ambition and long-term plans now in place.
The Board regards 2026 as the year Salford RLFC re-established itself following its reformation. The ambition for 2027 is different: to build a squad capable of competing with the Championship’s strongest clubs and challenging towards the top end of the table. Bringing a player of Sneyd’s quality back to the club is a clear demonstration of that ambition while remaining committed to building on strong and sustainable foundations.
“Timing was a big one for me. I spoke to Ryan and the coaches and their ambition really stood out. The club is at a brand-new stage, but I want to help the club get back to the level the club wants to be at. Hopefully next year we can build on what the club has already built this season”, said Sneyd.
Salford RLFC CEO Ryan Brierley, who played alongside Sneyd during his first spell at the club, said:

“I was here when the club went through administration, and I know first hand how difficult it was for Sneydy to leave. To now have the opportunity to bring him home, and give him the chance to finish this chapter in a Salford shirt, feels incredibly special.
